Green River Outlaws Baseball and Softball. Celebrating 10 Seasons in Youth Sports
The Green River Outlaws are entering into 2023 with teams of different ages. They are made up of talented, hardworking, Baseball and Softball players from Western, Central, and Eastern Kentucky representing roughly 20 different counties.
The Green River Outlaws was established in 2015 by Chris McFarland in Campbellsville, KY after his stepson's travel baseball team had decided to call it quits. They started with the original 11U Team and then formed a additional 10U Team with their little brothers and friends. As the years went by and the kids moved on to bigger play, Chris kept forming teams including an 8U travel Softball team for his daughter. That team is now playing in the 14U age group. Going into the 9th season in the Outlaws existence, the organization will be growing in numbers to 7 teams. It's amazing how time flies when you're having fun.
It is the goal of the Green River Outlaws Baseball and Softball coaching staff to provide athletes with the opportunity to experience success in a variety of situations, both individual and team, on and off the field of play. Athletes will be challenged to reach their full potential, encouraged to develop emotional maturity, and will have the opportunity to learn how to deal with success and failure. Not only will players learn the physical skills of baseball or softball, but they can also learn other life-long skills such as: self-confidence, self-discipline, self-motivation, goal setting, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, and leadership.
Our coaching staff believes that players are young men & ladies and sons & daughters first, athletes second. We recognize and support obligations to family, church, and school. Players will learn about commitment and balancing many obligations.
Decisions made by the Green River Outlaws Baseball and Softball coaching staff will be based on what is good for the Club, what is good for the team, and what is good for the individual. Our coaches will strive to win, however, winning is defined in many ways as a result of goal setting and thus our top priority will always focus on building young men and ladies of strong character through our programs
Green River Outlaws: BBD (Bucks and Beards Down) is a fun and exciting side division we created for the Players, Families, and Friends to get outside and enjoy the outdoors sport of Hunting. Each season we have a competition for everyone to see who gets the KY Biggest Buck during the entire Deer Season, and the Spring Wild Turkey with the Biggest Beard. The winners receive $100 cash prize. We also encourage the kids to practice proper weapon safety, and good conservation practices with land and animals.
